Love at First Slap

Well, it all started many years ago.  My friend, Kevin drove a van for the Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, MN.  His duties included driving students to their places of employment, or wherever else they needed to go.  He would also pick up those needing a ride back to the school.

Kevin had to make a run to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport to pick up students that have flown in to Minnesota from their homes afar off to start the fall semester in September.  One of those students was this cute little redhead.  I asked her what her name was, to which she replied "Vilinda."  I then asked her where she was from, to which she replied "Florida."

"Hmm" I said, "you're just a redneck!"

She slapped me!

It was all down hill from there.  By November, she was baking me cookies.  The next spring had us contemplating marriage.  We traveled to Florida to meet her parents.  Everything went smoothly and soon I was at the airport heading home back to St. Paul to find us an apartment pending our August marriage.  Minutes before they call my flight to start loading, I realized that I had not done something very important.  I dropped to a knee and asked Vilinda to marry me.  She accepted without a pause.

That downhill run started picking up speed and now we are nearing 27 years together.

Ladies, let this be a lesson to you.  Do not slap men!
